 Struggling with anxiety, stress, overthinking? This article is for you! I am here to provide you with best rated products that have not only helped me, but many others. I know there are a variety of products out there offering help to you and promising a change. However, it can be hard to trust whether they will actually do as they say. I am here to give you a list of mental health items that have personally worked for me in hopes to help you before making a purchase on something you are unsure of. Let's put an end to your mental suffering!

    My first, and personal favorite product, is a book called "Don't Believe Everything You Think- Why Your Thinking Is the Beginning & Ending of Suffering" By Joseph Nguyen. I personally struggle with severe anxiety and over the past couple of years have been searching for items that can help pull me out of my suffering thoughts. I came across this book at Target, and it immediately caught my attention. I purchased and began reading. Nguyen presented the most eye-opening points to the cause of our mental struggles, ones that still stick with me today. He offers help throughout the book on how to look at things differently and why our own thinking is the cause of suffering. It gave me the most helpful tools I have ever received on how to think differently, creating a pattern for me to follow to not fall into the panicked hole my mind creates. Nguyen was also a sufferer from mental health problems so reading content and tips from somebody who went through and continues to go through mental struggles was reassuring to me. It is hard to listen to somebody give you advice on something they do not go through. Knowing the author of a book filled with mental health advice made me full heartedly trust the source and tips he provided. 

    

    As a college student and part time worker myself, I know that making the time for reading content that does not have to do with assignments or tasks can be challenging. School and work are time consuming enough; you may be struggling with finding time in your day to read extra material. And that is okay! Here is another product that is non time consuming and will fit right into your daily routines. 

    Body restoring aromatherapy shower steamers. You can find these on Amazon or locally and are super easy to fit into your day. When you go to take your daily shower, you can grab one of these aromatherapy tablets and simply put it on the floor of your shower. These tablets are made with scents that help calm your mind and body. There are many different scents to choose from such as lavender, eucalyptus, rose and many more! These tablets release aromatherapy essential oils that are meant for self-care helping relaxation and clarity of the mind and body. Something as simple as smells are proven to help relax our mind- and as I've said, are super convenient for individuals with busy schedules. 


 


    For my third product, I am going to introduce weighted stuffed animals. Now, I know it sounds silly but weighted stuffed animals, blankets, hoodies and other items have been proven to help mental health! Weighted stuffed animals help apply gentle pressure on our bodies, helping regulate and stimulate our bodies nervous system. Beyond the scientific reasoning for why weighted stuffed animals are a help, simply putting your arms around an object can help distract us from negative thoughts, thus promoting relaxation. Weighted stuffed animals offer comfort and support and again are very easy to add to your day. You can use them before going to bed at night, when taking a nap or if you are doing homework. You can simply lay them on you and go about your duties.



    Another helpful product is mindfulness journaling. Mindfulness journals are journals that come with premeditated prompts to ask you. As someone who gets easily frustrated and overwhelmed by my thoughts, journaling has come in handy for me. I started journalling many years ago. I started as a way to express myself and to put the thoughts and words into my head onto a page. Just physically seeing them helped me. It allowed me to not let so much pile into my head; I was able to let some of it go by writing it down. However, I did begin struggling with what I needed to write about to help me. Sometimes I could write for hours, and nothing helped the overwhelming thoughts in my brain. The mindfulness journal was created with prompts and practices for anxiety. This journal allows you to take control of the thoughts in your brain without also having to come up with the questions. Understanding why we think the way we do is the hardest, this journal is filled with questions for you to answer and practices for you to partake in in hopes it brings back that sense of peace you are looking for with your brain.


    Coming from somebody who suffers with mental health problems, I know how exhausting it can be. Even more exhausting finding tools to help you get better. As someone who has spent years finding the best solutions to my mental suffering, these are by far the most effective products for me. I know something as simple as a book, a smell, a stuffed animal can seem silly. Trust me, I thought so too. But adding small things as such into your daily life to find those few extra minutes of mental calmness and relaxation will help you find that permanently. Getting into a routine of activities that bring you a sense of peace will only continue to help you find it long term. It all starts with finding what works best for you. I hope with these four best rated products by me, one of them is a start for you to find the peaceful life you deserve.
